Project #3: Improving Course Experience and Student Achievement

Overview

As a teaching assistant and departmental liaison, I played a key role in collaborating with instructors to enhance course materials and curriculum, ensuring that the content was accessible to students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles. This project focused on improving the learning experience through an iterative design process based on feedback from surveys and performance data.

Throughout the semester, I regularly assessed student progress through detailed performance tracking and feedback, enabling us to make data-driven adjustments to the course content and structure. This iterative approach significantly enhanced student engagement and learning outcomes, as the course became better aligned with the needs of the students.

By tailoring explanations and course structure to varied comprehension levels, I helped make complex scientific concepts more digestible for a diverse student body. In addition to refining course materials, I provided targeted academic support through weekly tutoring sessions and office hours, offering personalized guidance to students who needed extra help. The project was a success, resulting in clearer, more effective instruction and improved student satisfaction and academic performance.
